2012 Fine Arts Scholarship Information
Dear Student,
The application for the Duluth Fine Arts Scholarship is now available. Please read the application and the questions very carefully. We will invite students back for an interview in late April based on how thoroughly the questions are answered. Our expectations are high; we expect answers that show time and effort.
There are three parts to the DFAL scholarship process:
1) An application which must be completed by all applicants.
2) Essay questions
A. Part A must be completed by visual fine arts students. Visual arts includes art, photography and graphic arts.
B. Part B must be completed by music students. Music includes choral, instrumental, strings, brass, woodwinds, piano and percussion.
The above two items must be received by March 31 at 6PM. We will not accept any late entries.
You may submit the application online. Please see the links below for submitting the applications.
3) Interview and performance are scheduled for Sunday April 15. This is mandatory and not re-schedules will be allowed. Students will be invited to this section based on their application and essay answers. If you are a music student, you should perform something suitable for a college audition. If you are a visual arts student, you should bring many pieces of your work that demonstrate your talent. A CD of your work will also be required. Group projects will not be accepted. The work must be 100% your own creation. The location of the auditions will be announced in late March.
If you have any questions about the application process, please email Ms. Mary Buck at
Marybuck1@bellsouth.net
Good luck and we hope to see you at the interview in April.
Sincerely,
Mary Buck
